MELD 32X // CLOSED BETA INTAKE

Meld is an original arcade puzzle game for the Sega 32X. This is the intake channel for its closed beta. Applications are read manually by the operator.

Current testing focus

  • Puzzle-game experience: the games applicants know well, and which mechanics or qualities they value.
  • Controller detection on real hardware, including 3-button pads, 6-button pads, and wireless adapters.
  • CRT readability: color separation between orb types, and whether the optional identification marks help.
  • PAL behavior: timing, music playback, and layout on 50 Hz machines.
  • Audio: music routing, cue selection, and mix balance during play.
  • Frame timing and input response measured on hardware rather than on emulation.

Build state

Music, presentation, balance, and final polish remain in active development.

Supported configurations

  • Real hardware: a Sega 32X on a Mega Drive or Genesis, with a flash cartridge. The exact cartridge model decides which ROM profile you receive, which is why the form asks for it by name.
  • FPGA: a platform running a Mega Drive plus 32X core. Report the core and its version.
  • Emulator: accepted and useful for rules and balance feedback. Hardware and FPGA reports carry more weight for timing, controller, and video work.

Time commitment

  • Two or three sessions of at least twenty minutes each.
  • Written feedback within seven days of receiving a build.

Confidentiality terms, revision 2026-08-04.2

Beta builds are unreleased work. Accepted testers agree to keep the ROM and any unreleased footage private: no redistribution, no public uploads, no streams, and no screenshots until the build is released publicly.

This is a confidentiality agreement between you and the operator. It rests on trust. It is not a technical restriction and nothing in the build enforces it.

Privacy

WHY
Puzzle-game background helps the operator interpret design feedback. Setup fields decide which build profile you receive and which reports apply to which hardware. The name and email are how the operator reaches you.
USE
Beta coordination only. Your details are not sold, published, or passed to a third party.
RETENTION
Applications are kept while the beta runs and are deleted within ninety days of public release.
DELETION
Ask for removal at any time through the contact route. Include the email address you applied with.

What to expect

  • Access is limited. Builds go out in small waves.
  • Applying does not reserve a place in a wave.
  • Applications are read by hand, so a reply is not immediate.
  • There is no download on this page. Accepted testers are contacted directly.
  • Beta invitations come from x@jenovi.net and are frequently filtered into junk or spam. Check those folders after applying.

JavaScript is required to open the staged application terminal. If it cannot mount, use the contact route to report the problem.
